This comment I can really get behind. I agree... any business taking a bailout should have replaced their talking heads. If they couldn't keep their business out of financial trouble, then why would anyone believe they could right their ship?

smcho - Any Senator, majority party or not, can propose a bill and drive it through Congress if everyone else blindly goes along with it. It WAS Dodd and Frank that pushed for Fannie and Freddie to lower their standards for loans.

Sir Ziggy, the Obama administration has added 10% MORE to our national debt in the past 7 months... and please don't say it's because he is trying to clean up the previous administration's mess. No one seemed to have any problem with the soaring economy through 2006.

You were making some interesting points there right up until your last paragraph about forcing insurance companies to make their profit and loss statements public. Please try to remember that an insurance company is a business.

Obama did a great job at keeping it tactful (and funny!). Sykes definitely did not. Anything for a laugh I guess.

When John McCain mentioned cutting $18 billion from the budget, Obama countered that that wasn't enough. So, a billion less is a good thing
